How we review products
Research-based reviews
All current reviews use product information and published sources. We assess intended use, version, formulation context, the strength and applicability of supporting evidence, instructions, likely purchase trade-offs and any information we could not verify. We have not personally measured the products’ performance.
Personally tested reviews
We would apply this label only after actual use, with the tester, period, routine, relevant hair characteristics and product source described. No current page qualifies for this label. Personal experience would still not be described as a clinical trial.
Product selection
The current selection is limited and includes reader-requested products. Inclusion is not a claim that these are the best in their categories. Buying guides are labelled separately. We do not publish “best” rankings without a stated selection method and sufficient assessed options.
Prices, suitability and alternatives
We identify snapshots when quoting prices and avoid asserting live offers we could not verify. Alternatives may be a different care step rather than another purchase. Suitability discussion is a starting point, not a guarantee for every reader.
Ratings and funding
We use written assessments, not numerical scores. Retailer ratings are not our own scores. Affiliate links are disclosed and do not justify favourable conclusions. Receiving a product, payment or other material benefit would need to be declared if applicable.
